Specifier Questions, Answered

Practical answers to the questions that come up mid-Revit session — file formats, lead times, regional warehouses, and the SLA on a submittal package response.

Q.01 What BIM file formats do you support, and which Revit version is current?

We maintain Revit families for 2022 through 2025, IFC 4.x components for cross-platform workflows, and AutoCAD DWG blocks at 1:1 scale. The library is refreshed quarterly and the file header includes a revision date so you can confirm currency before linking into a sheet set.

Q.02 How long does a custom color match actually take?

Custom color matches ship in 18 working days from approved lab dip. The 5.3-day average fulfillment applies to any of our 142 standard colors, which already cover most healthcare and education finish palettes — the request we see most often is "do you have something close to our existing facility standard?" and the answer is usually yes, no custom run required.

Q.03 What does the sample kit contain, and how fast does it arrive?

The standard kit includes 6" × 6" swatches of our top 24 stocked colors, one corner-guard sample, one handrail end-cap demo, and the printed submittal binder (test reports, EPD, installation guide). It ships from one of our 22 regional warehouses within 5 working days for U.S. destinations and 7 working days for EMEA and APAC.

Q.04 What's your submittal response SLA when my GC asks a question?

Our in-house specification team responds to Revit and AutoCAD submittal requests within 4 business hours, Monday–Friday. For complex RFI chains on active healthcare construction, we will join the project RFI log directly if you share access. Escalation to a product engineer for technical submittal questions is built into the same 4-hour window — you don't wait for an account manager to forward the question upstream.

Q.05 Which regional warehouses cover my project site?

22 regional warehouses cover North America, EMEA, and APAC. For U.S. projects we typically ship from Cleveland, Atlanta, Dallas, or Los Angeles; EMEA from our North Rhine-Westphalia facility or the Rotterdam hub; APAC from Singapore. Our specification team will confirm stock against your project schedule during submittal review.

Q.06 Can the BSRIA 73% lifecycle figure be cited in our submittal?

Yes — the BSRIA 2023 lifecycle study is publicly available and may be cited verbatim in submittal packages. A signed permission letter is included in the download packet for inclusion behind your spec divider. If your jurisdiction requires a project-specific adjustment, our specification team can model the lifecycle against your maintenance schedule.
